CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES

Independent Form F Assessor

Foundation Fostering is a small, trauma-informed independent fostering agency. We believe that safe, healing relationships are at the heart of good fostering.

We’re looking for experienced *Independent Form F Assessors* to help us find, assess, and prepare foster carers who can offer stability for children who have experienced trauma.

*The Role*
– Complete Form F assessments to NMS 2011 standards, using a trauma-informed, strengths-based lens
– Take time to understand applicants – explore their own attachment history, resilience, and capacity to parent therapeutically
– Assess for therapeutic parenting – not just what applicants have done, but how they will respond to challenging behaviour rooted in trauma
– Write clear, reflective reports within 10-12 weeks that help panel understand the applicant’s potential

You’ll work closely with our Registered Manager who will supervise you through the assessment.

About You
Essential:
– HCPC registered Social Worker
– 3+ years post-qualifying experience, preferably with direct experience in fostering, children in care, or therapeutic services
– Proven experience completing Form F assessments
– Understanding of trauma, attachment theory, and how this impacts parenting and assessment
– Excellent analytical and report writing skills
– Commitment to trauma-informed, anti-discriminatory practice

Desirable:
– Training in DDP, PACE, or other trauma/attachment models
– Previous experience as an independent assessor or with an IFA

What We Offer
– Competitive fee
– Small, supportive agency – you’ll know everyone’s name and be part of real discussions
– Trauma-informed CPD* – regular training and reflective supervision

*How to Apply*
Please send your CV, HCPC number, and a short note about your Form F and trauma-informed experience to Michelle.Morris@foundationfostering.org

Foundation Fostering is committed to safeguarding children and promoting a trauma-informed culture. Enhanced DBS and references required.

If you assess with curiosity, compassion, and understanding for trauma, we’d love to hear from you.
